CA updates eHealth solution
CA has updated its performance management tools to simplify the management of IT infrastructures
CA has updated its network performance management software with improved reporting capabilities and unified administration, in a move designed to simplify the management of firms’ IT infrastructures and reduce operational costs.
EHealth was developed by Concord Communications, which was acquired by CA last year. It monitors the performance of firms’ IT infrastructure and applications, with the aim of providing businesses with early warning about problems that might occur.
Version 6.0 features a new Report Center tool, which lets users create their own tailored reports to assess the performance of network resources, said Peter Dye, CA solutions strategist in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“The install time of eHealth is very short and firms can start getting value from it within three to four days of a purchase,” Dye said. “With the new reporting engine, firms can create user-defined reports through a drag-and-drop interface within minutes as well.”
CA has also unified the consoles to simplify administration. “We’ve unified the management interfaces so there’s less to deal with and the cost of ownership is reduced,” Dye said. “Multiple users can also manage the system.”
EHealth integrates closely with CA’s Spectrum fault management and Unicenter network and systems management (NSM) tools, Dye said. “Firms can get a whole picture of their IT systems from the desktop to the network. The goal for future releases is to offer one view of the whole infrastructure, including mainframes, desktops and enterprise systems.”
