ISP Strato launches web hosting services for UK firms
German firm releases two packages targetted at the enterprise market
Berlin-based internet service provider Strato has announced it is launching a range of new web hosting products in the UK to help firms achieve an online presence without the need for expensive in-house development work.
The firm is releasing two packages for the enterprise market. EnterpriseWeb includes 20GB of web space, 100GB of web traffic, 18 MySQL databases and full backup, 5,000 email accounts and 10 domain names, and is priced at £14.99 per month.
AdvancedWeb is a slightly smaller package, offering nine databases, 4GB of web space, 50GB of web traffic and 1,500 email accounts, at a price of £10.99 per month.
"We're using the [.eu landrush] start date of 7 April to launch our web hosting packages," said Strato chief executive Damian Schmidt. "We [comply with] British security standards [BS7799] and have powerful connectivity so we can deliver your web site in milliseconds."
The offerings are suitable both firms wanting to launch a web site for the first time, and those who want to upgrade from another hosting provider, Schmidt added.
As Europe's largest .eu registry, Strato is also offering 100,000 free .eu domains on a first-come-first-served basis across Europe from Friday.
