BigFix unveils new framework
Enables remote workers to stay compliant even when disconnected from the network
IT security and systems management specialist BigFix has launched IT.Next, its new framework for the automation of best practice policies and processes and service delivery optimisation.
IT.Net is based on the BigFix Platform – a lightweight, distributed network with smart agents at every end-point that continually enforce rules and report exceptions. This model enables mobile devices to remain in compliance even when disconnected from the network, and ensures IT resources are free to concentrate on more strategic initiatives, according to the company's chief technology officer Amrit Williams.
"Our technology allows you to ask ad-hoc unstructured queries of the entire computing environment, in real time," he added.
The firm also launched three on-demand, pre-packaged policy modules, including endpoint security, policy enforcement and desktop and server management capabilities.
"The technology is like cable TV and these are the channels; they can be turned on immediately," said Williams. "Because it's a lightweight infrastructure and the agents are non-resource intensive, firms can consolidate and eliminate a lot of the technology they already have."
