Carphone Warehouse improves staff monitoring

Scheduling system keeps tabs on payroll spending and aims to improve customer service

Carphone Warehouse wants to gain improved control on staff performance

The Carphone Warehouse is using a scheduling system to better manage staff resources across Europe.

The system will cover about 5,000 of the group’s employees and will analyse historical trading data, projected sales figures and work standards.

“We will be able to manage employee schedules by accurately matching staffing requirements to customer demand and expect substantial improvements in customer conversion rates as a result,” said senior project manager for business change, Mercedes Garcia.

“And customers will experience a greater level of service with more staff available to meet their requirements.”

A time and attendance module and biometric terminals to manage absence are also part of the package. The kit is expected to ensure payroll accuracy and reduce administration costs while providing a clearer picture of staff availability, so that stores can create better staffing schedules.

Supplier Kronos is providing the system.
