Mobile firm O2 promises to limit roaming call charges for Spanish travellers

02 is to address ongoing concerns about high international mobile roaming charges by fixing the cost for its UK users to receive calls whilst travelling in Spain at £5 per month. The service should roll out to another 35 European countries in the first half of next year, said 02.

As well as receiving incoming calls for free, O2 UK users of the ‘high roamer’ service pay a monthly fee of £5 to make calls for 25 pence per minute, representing a 70% discount over standard rates said the operator. Small and medium-sized companies can get a discounted fee of £2.50 per month if they sign up to a 12-month contract.
