Waitrose improves warehouse replenishment
New system aimed at better managing promotions and capacity planning
Waitrose is looking to improve its supply chain processes
Supermarket chain Waitrose has rolled out a new system to optimise replenishment and supplier ordering for its six UK warehouses.
As the retailer increases price-led offers, the new platform is expected to improve handling of its increasingly complex supply chain.
The phased implementation is expected to start before Christmas and complete by 2011.
“With the growth we’ve enjoyed across the business, and our ambitious plans for the next few years, we knew we had to overhaul our supply chain IT systems in readiness for the future,” said head of supply chain at Waitrose, Liz Gemmill.
