Cisco is investing in SoonR
Cisco is investing $9.5m (£4.8m) in mobile startup SoonR, which is developing enhanced remote access software that lets roaming workers use a mobile phone to view files and content stored on a PC.
The software is currently available only in a free beta version, using a secure sockets layer client installed on the PC to communicate with the SoonR server that handles requests from the mobile phone.
Additional investments from Intel Capital and Clearstone Venture Partners have brought the total to $15.5m (£7.9m).
