Swift adopts unified communications

Financial messaging firm to connect offices with BT videoconferencing tools

Swift will use telepresence to cut costs and reduce carbon emissions

Financial messaging provider Swift has signed a three-year managed services contract with BT for the provision of a video service to connect its offices worldwide.

The unified communications system will include five sets of telepresence equipment provided by Cisco connected via the firm’s own secure link, which enables users to exchange financial information around the clock.

As well as cutting costs, Swift expects the new kit to also deliver benefits in efficiency and lower carbon emissions.

Five systems supporting equipment and software will be introduced as part of the contract, which also includes continuous helpdesk support and on-site maintenance, proactive system monitoring and remote diagnostics.
