West Sussex Council signs Capgemini to support change programme

West Sussex has signed a deal with Capgemini
West Sussex County Council has signed a deal with IT services supplier Capgemini to support the next phase of its business transformation programme – a project that has so far delivered more than £50m of savings.
The local authority’s in-house team has already implemented changes that led to the organisation’s lowest percentage increase in council tax. A new package of funding will deliver further improvements to front-line services, with the Capgemini contract covering the three core components of the programme - transformational change, operational service improvement and IT.
West Sussex County Council chief executive Mark Hammond said the aim is to make the authority the best public sector organisation in the UK.
“Although external assessments say we are a top performing council and improving strongly, we are determined to turn ‘good’ into ‘great’ because that is what the residents of West Sussex need and deserve,” he said.
