Solving the challenge of rolling out AI at scale: Nic Granger, NSTA
And bringing your workforce along for the ride
Nic Granger, CIO and CFO at the North Sea Transition Authority, tells us how AI is forcing the oil and gas industry to evolve.
Artificial intelligence is transforming industries left, right and centre. How do you prepare to ride the wave of change, rather than being swept away?
Answering that question is why we’ve launched our AI in Action content hub, the one-stop shop for all things AI. Here you can find a range of news articles, features, research and interviews covering every aspect of the AI debate.
In the next video of our mini-series celebrating the launch, Nic Granger, CIO and CFO of the North Sea Transition Authority, says she is “really excited” to see how AI can extract data from unstructured data; a massive pain point for her organisation.
The NSTA holds more than a petabyte of data, so ensuring quality is a key challenge – and not a unique one. Much of the data comes from oil and gas firms, which the NSTA regulates. Using AI to extract and structure information would save huge amounts of time and money for both the regulator and the industry.
Nic also discusses how – with demand rising – she is upskilling the NSTA’s workforce to take advantage of AI and data tools.
This is just an excerpt from the full video, in which Nic explains how she makes sure NSTA is using AI responsibly, and her advice for other IT leaders looking to adopt the technology. Find it now on Computing’s AI in Action hub.
