Will you be our next winner of the Cloud Excellence Awards?

Last year’s victors explain the benefits of their win

Every year, the Cloud Excellence Awards recognise the organisations, teams and individuals delivering real-world impact through cloud computing. But beyond the trophy, winners consistently highlight something more valuable: credibility, confidence and momentum.

Entries are open, so be sure to register to view the questions for each category.

Past winners describe the awards as a powerful validation of their strategy, approach and results, both internally and externally. Hear from two of them from 2025 below.

Testimonials

Manchester Metropolitan University - Winner of the Best Cloud Project Award for their Research Cloud Platform

Rob Collins, Head of IT Infrastructure Services at Manchester Metropolitan University, emphasised that recognition reinforced confidence at senior leadership level and accelerated future investment. He explained to us that winning “validated the direction we were taking” and helped demonstrate that their cloud strategy was delivering “real value and positive outcomes” across the organisation.

That theme of outcomes over technology appears repeatedly in winner feedback. Judges are not looking for complexity for its own sake; they want clarity, relevance, and impact.

Version 1 - Winner of the Best Cloud Automation/AI Solution Award with their Fraud Detection Project

Sat Gainda, Data & Cloud Head of Engineering (AWS) at Version 1, mentioned that winning the award helped to open new conversations with clients facing similar challenges, while also reinforcing their reputation for combining innovation with practical delivery. As Sat put it, the award proved that “innovation combined with practical delivery gets noticed”.

Tips for writing your entry

Crucially, winners consistently advise future entrants to tell the story honestly. What problem were you solving? What changed as a result? What did you learn along the way? Judges value transparency and measurable outcomes far more than buzzwords or overly technical language.

The Cloud Excellence Awards are open to end-user organisations, vendors, partners and individuals, with categories spanning cloud projects, automation and AI, security, platforms, managed services and professional excellence.

Whether you’re delivering transformation internally or building solutions for customers, the programme is designed to reflect the full cloud ecosystem.
