IT services and the profits of fear

So Nick Hopkinson, head of cyber security EMEA for US-based IT services firm CSC, thinks the UK needs to raise its cyber security game (UK is less secure than its allies, says former CIO of GCHQ).

I wonder, would CSC happen to be one of the outfits peddling the government snooping bill through highly paid lobbying firms? Telling IT-illiterate politicians we absolutely need to spend £200m a year to spy on ourselves, with technology a toddler could circumvent if shown how?

The UK is the most highly monitored country in the world. You cannot walk a step in London without being tracked and recorded. This is still not enough for some people, especially when they've got lots of money to make out of destroying privacy and liberty.
