Should "accelerate" cloud migration for customers

NetScout is making an effort to push its nGenuisONE service assurance platform into the cloud, hoping this shift will allow its customers to "accelerate migration" of their own into cloud and SaaS, in a market that NetScout argues lacks solutions for performance monitoring in cloud environments.

Providing "synthetic testing for the monitoring of SaaS, cloud-hosted, on-premise applications, voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services and network health to identify current and potential connectivity and performance problems", nGeniusPULSE works by simulating user interactions with an application, generating reports and helping to troubleshoot problems or optimise application performance.

"Public cloud services afford flexible computing and cost structures for the business, but they traditionally come with a loss of visibility and control for many IT organizations," said Jim Duffy, a senior analyst in networking at 451 Research.

"The addition of nGeniusPULSE to the nGeniusONE platform gives NetScout customers the ability to measure service levels and quickly resolve problems."

"NetScout's customers not only understand the importance of visibility from their private cloud experience with nGeniusONE, they consider it an imperative as they increasingly look at how they move customer-impacting applications to the cloud," said Michael Szabados, NetScout's COO.

"The combination of nGeniusPULSE with the nGenius platform, with its ability to test cloud-based services for availability, responsiveness, and adherence to service levels, gives enterprise IT leaders the actionable insight to migrate with confidence."

Szabados argued that "only NetScout" provides pervasive visibility for application service assurance across the diverse combinations of private, hybrid, SaaS and public cloud architectures that enterprises are currently deploying.
