BT yesterday unveiled a special summer promotion offering new customers of its Broadband Basic product a free installation and modem at under £20 a month.
The telco said the deal provides a total saving of £80 for punters signing up between 20 May and 20 July, 2004.
The promotion is being run in conjunction with another sweetener being offered by BT: a flight to the US or Europe for all new consumer broadband customers.
Duncan Ingram, managing director of BT Openworld, explained that the deal offers a full-speed 512Kbps broadband service for under £20 per month. The service is capped at 1GB of downloaded data per month.
"As customers become increasingly web-savvy and sophisticated in their choices, ISPs must realise that one size most definitely does not fit all, and that there is more to broadband than just speed," said Ingram in a statement.
"Broadband is also about personalisation, flexibility and choice, qualities designed to make the internet work for individuals and businesses alike, not vice versa."
