Consumers worldwide can now receive instant stock quote information in a voice message sent to any phone, mobile, pager or wireless application protocol (Wap) based device.
RealCall has worked with Nokia and Stock-Alerts.com, which provides subscribers with data from 15 different stock markets, to develop a mobile share portfolio application with realtime voice alerts.
Users define their own alert 'conditions' such as a percentage change in share price for each stock in their portfolio.
The system is based on proprietary Text To Speech technology, which translates digital alerts into spoken language.
The alerting service also provides 'content on demand', which enables mobile phone users to immediately obtain additional information about any stock they are interested in, and a 'broker connection', which enables customers to connect electronically to their stockbroker after having being alerted to a movement in a stock price.
Babak Kamali, Stock-Alerts.com's chief executive, said: "We can now provide end users with realtime alerts, anytime, anywhere, to any mobile device. With various methods for receiving alerts, users have access to the world's financial market movements, regardless of their location."
