Communications technology is not helping managers establish a work-life balance, despite allowing remote and flexible working, according to research.
Sixty-five percent of European business leaders report growing use of video conferencing and online meeting services, allowing staff to work from home and in transit as effectively as in the office.
But almost half (47 percent) of UK business leaders still work more than 60 hours a week, compared with only 34 percent in Europe overall. And 55 per cent of bosses in seven EU countries UK are working longer than they were in 2000.
European business communication provider Interoute surveyed 1,050 senior business leaders across , France, Spain, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands and Italy.
