Software giant Microsoft has announced the availability of the consumer version of Office 2010 Web Apps in the UK.
UK users with SkyDrive accounts should be able to log on and use the web-based office productivity suite a week ahead of the worldwide launch scheduled for 15 June.
A Microsoft spokesman said that the UK would be joining the US, Canada and Ireland in being able to access Microsoft’s consumer cloud office offering early.
Applications integrate with Windows Live accounts, with the online storage provided by SkyDrive. Applications available are Excel 2010, OneNote 2010, PowerPoint 2010, and Word 2010.
Microsoft said the applications are available on almost all devices, and across most popular browsers including Safari and Firefox.

I prefer OpenOffice, Google Docs and Zoho. They're free, versatile and cross platform.
