Push email vendor Visto has upgraded its messaging software to version 5.5 to give mobile staff better control of email.
Steve Maynard, Visto’s Europe senior marketing manager, said “We’re trying to enable the mass rollout of email – RIM [with BlackBerrys] has done well at the high end, but we’re working with Vodafone to bring this to firms’ other employees.”
Visto Mobile 5.5 adds tools for multiple mailbox management, allows users to define their mobile email day and enables searches of local and remote personal and corporate addresses. The improvements have been made as part of Visto’s Worklife.freedom initiative after research into the habits of mobile staff.
“We’re trying to put in features that won’t just appeal to the boss,” said Suzanne Panoplos, Visto’s corporate marketing director.
Operators can tailor services for users through Visto’s Network Operations Centre (NOC), which bridges device and server platforms.
