Online ticket firm See Tickets has deployed traffic management software to ensure availability of its web site during busy traffic periods.
Some 85 per cent of the firm’s sales are carried out online and See Tickets also supports third-party web sites, so it decided to introduce the system to reduce the chances of downtime.
“We had a market leading hardware solution in place for sometime which never performed as expected. Consequently, our web site struggled to cope with the huge demand during peak times, especially with short notice ‘on sale’ promotions and during the festival season,” said the IT manager at See Tickets, Matt Relf.
“For example, See Tickets powers the web site for Glastonbury and as ticket sales for the event continue to grow in popularity, it was clear that this was a challenge we needed to address,” he said.
The reporting metrics to monitor and review the patterns of traffic that are provided by the new system allow better-informed business decisions. The software is also set to be migrated to a virtualised environment as the firm plans to step up use of the technology over the next 12 months.
According to Relf, the application, provided by Zeus Technology, delivers “significantly better performance and return on investment.”

Failed 1st Major Test
Attempting to get Glastonbury tickets this am and long string of "server busy" screens requiring refresh and then process eventually failed to confirm order so I'v no idea if I have tickets or not. Still a bit of a way to go. Better luck next time!

Seetickets site crashes oct 4
Whatever software they introduced it clearly doesn't work! I have been trying to get a Glastonbury ticket all day The site was in continual chaos with broken links at every page. By the time I managed to get to the payment screen it would not let me purchase the ticket as It claimed I had already done so!
Their phones have been down all day and emails to helpme are no longer accepted.
The new software is clearly not working.
