Biometric single sign-on software launched

DigitalPersona releases updated version of enterprise single sign-on tool

Written by Phil Muncaster

Fingerprint authentication specialist DigitalPersona has launched a new version of its enterprise single sign-on software, featuring improved performance and manageability, and a better user experience, according to the firm.

DigitalPersona Pro 4.0 is fully interoperable with all biometrically-enabled notebooks including HP Compaq, Dell Latitude and Lenovo ThinkPad models. The product has also been made more scalable, so greater numbers of users can access the server at the same time, said the firm's co-founder, Vance Bjorn.

"It's also more tightly integrated with Active Directory, so administrators can push the software out [to all users] with just one click of the button," Bjorn added. "We've focused on features that take it to the next level [in terms of] security, availability and performance."

DigitalPersona has also added clearer graphical interfaces for IT administrators and faster authentication time for users, with a false accept rate of only one in one million, it said.
