Systinet and Mercury integrate systems to monitor IT

The Systinet 2 governance toolset will forge closer links with Mercury's Business Availability Centre suite

Written by James Murray

Fresh from its acquisition earlier this year by IT governance software vendor Mercury, service-oriented architecture (SOA) governance specialist Systinet unveiled its new product roadmap last week and said it will tighten integration between the two vendors’ portfolios over the next 18 months.

Roman Stanek, Systinet founder and chief software architect, said the company was on track to deliver a new version of its Systinet 2 governance toolset featuring improved integration with Mercury's Business Availability Centre suite for monitoring IT performance by the end of the year.

The integration will allow IT directors to see how application components or services are connected through Systinet's service registry and also monitor their performance, according to Stanek. "As you connect services in an SOA you will also be able to check they are performing and meeting service levels," he added.

Stanek said this integration would be the first of many links between Systinet and Mercury systems. "Systinet's technology provides visibility over the lifecycle of application components or services within an SOA. That lifecycle touches with all elements of IT governance, such as testing, simulation, modeling, and performance management," he added.
