InfoWatch, a company founded by Russian antivirus specialist Kaspersky Lab, plans to launch its flagship internal threat management system in the UK by the end of the year. The system is designed to prevent firms’ sensitive data from leaving their networks.
The vendor’s portfolio includes InfoWatch Mail Monitor, which monitors messages to detect items that could be confidential; and InfoWatch Web Monitor, which filters traffic such as web-based email for unauthorised internet use and potential data leaks.
The system can help large firms prevent sensitive data from being stolen by spies or accidentally exposed, said the vendor.
The InfoWatch range is only available in Russia at present, where the firm has customers including mobile operator Beeline and the Russian Federal Customs Service. Last month the company announced it expects to have a product available in the UK in the fourth quarter of 2006.
