Medical journal achieves important milestone

Journal of Hospital Medicine is selected for impact factor tracking

Written by Peter Williams

The Journal of Hospital Medicine has been selected for impact factor tracking by Thomson’s Institute of Scientific Information (ISI) services after just two years of publication. The journal is published by The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) and Wiley-Blackwell.

Mark Williams, M.D., editor-in-chief of the Journal of Hospital Medicine said:"After having been accepting for indexing by MEDLINE after just one year of publication, we are extremely pleased that the journal has now been accepted for coverage by ISI. This new milestone further demonstrates the importance of hospital medicine and also acknowledges the high quality of the articles published in the Journal of Hospital Medicine,”

Vickie Thaw, vice president and publisher, Wiley-Blackwell said: "Being recognized by Thomson’s Institute of Scientific Information® is a key indicator that the Journal of Hospital Medicine has entered the mainstream world of academic medical publishing and also that the journal is leading the specialty of hospital medicine.”
