The consumerisation of IT - especially when it comes to mobile devices - represents an opportunity for the business but a potential nightmare for the IT department.
Most organisations recognise the business case for increasing mobility, allowing access to corporate data and applications from mobile devices. And allowing staff to use their own devices saves on the purchase price and upgrade cycle.
But the touchscreen tablets and smartphones that are enjoying such explosive growth are inherently less secure than PCs and laptops.
Draconian measures to ban such devices are unlikely to be successful and may well be counterproductive to business, so how can the security of the network, applications, and the data they hold be ensured?
With the findings of a recent Computing reader survey as a starting point, this web seminar will provide practical advice on how to enable the use of smartphones and tablets for business purposes without creating a security hole.
