Virtualisation is one of the hottest technology trends of the moment. Early adopters are already saving money and reducing their energy use by consolidating servers into a more flexible and easier to manage IT infrastructure.
But there is more to virtualisation than even these benefits. The technology is central to migrating to cloud computing, the emerging strategy for internet-based software and IT resources that promises to deliver significant gains in IT efficiency.
