Effetti: I don’t think there has ever been a bad time to enter the IT market

What was your first job and how did you get into IT?

When I finished school I found a job as an IT consultant for a big publishing company. I implemented a new database system for them that was later used to manage the delivery of their publications across the country. I also trained their personnel and supported the system for over a year. It was a very challenging task considering it was 1994 and I had to develop my solution on DBIII for DOS! It was
extremely fulfilling and I truly enjoyed it from start to finish.

I don’t think there has ever been a bad time to enter the IT market. At present I would highly recommend the co-location industry if you want to learn and develop your skills.
