John Lister, chief information officer for Specsavers, has left his post at the company after three years in the job.
According to a Specsavers spokesperson, Lister quit for personal reasons.
During his time at the company, Lister oversaw the transition of the IT team from its offices in Eastleigh to a new building in Southampton, the establishment of offshore testing, and the ongoing development and rollout of Specsavers' store and manufacturing systems.
"I would like to thank John for his contribution as a member of the Specsavers board and for the progress that the IT function has made under his leadership. I wish him all the very best for the future," said John Perkins, managing director at Specsavers, in a statement.
Prior to joining the company, Lister was CIO at BUPA for six years, and he has also previously been employed as European IT director for Tesco.
Until Lister's replacement is found, the IT function will be led by chief financial officer Paul Fussey.
