Technology management services provider BMC Software will buy IT management solutions provider Numara Software for an undisclosed amount, in order to target the mid-market.
BMC Software said that the acquisition will expand its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings and IT management capabilities.
Based in Tampa, Florida, Numara has 13,000 global customers and 70 partners. BMC will offer Numara's integrated service and asset management on-premise product FootPrints and its helpdesk and asset management solution for smaller organisations, Track-It!.
"Mid-sized and small business organisations will benefit from new choices and more importantly, will have more capabilities to manage IT in support of the changing needs of their business," said Dave Hansen, president and CEO of Numara.
The company said that the acquisition will close in BMC's fiscal fourth quarter in March and further details will be released on 1 February.
