Welsh language broadcaster S4C is seeking partners to build a content delivery network that will allow users to access its programmes via their PCs, mobile devices and games consoles.
The proposed two-year contract will be expected to deliver up to 15TB of data each month and be able to support more than 2,000 users accessing the service simultaneously.
S4C also wants its content delivery partner to be able to convert video files into multiple formats, so that users could access its programmes from Android, iOS and Symbian devices, as well as PCs and PS3, Wii and Xbox consoles.
The broadcaster has been reviewing its digital strategy over the past few months, aware that it had lagged behind others, such as the BBC and Channel 4, in the digital television era.
