CESG, the UK government's national technical authority for information assurance, has launched a new certificate for professionals in information assurance in industry and government.
CESG is situated within GCHQ, the government department responsible for the fight against cyber crime.
The certification will see information assurance professionals who work to help secure individuals and government in the UK against cyber attack provided with a clearly defined career path.
Information assurance provides government or citizens with the confidence that their information systems will protect the information they handle and function as they need to.
This move by the CESG aims to ensure systems are designed with information assurance in mind and that the assurance of those systems is maintained throughout the system's life.
