Former British Airways CIO Paul Coby has joined retail group John Lewis as IT director. Coby will join John Lewis' management board and report to managing director Andy Street.
Coby, who had worked at BA for 10 years before leaving earlier this year, assumes his new role on 21 March and will be responsible for the company's IT strategy, design, development and operations.
"Paul's record at British Airways speaks for itself. He's a heavyweight in the IT industry, and therefore it is excellent news that he is joining our business to help us realise our ambition to become a leader in technology," said Andy Street, managing director at John Lewis.
"We all look forward to welcoming Paul and to seeing the benefit of a dedicated IT director in John Lewis."
