The London Stock Exchange (LSE) stopped trading on its UK cash equity markets this morning because of a technical error.
This news follows LSE's go-live with a new trading platform provided by Sri Lanka-based provider Millennium IT earlier this month.
Since going live, the exchange has experienced several glitches and trading delays.
Trading on the UK cash equity market was paused today at 8.03am, and then stopped at 8.33am, following what LSE described as a real-time data dissemination issue.
"We sincerely regret the inconvenience that today's disruption to trading has caused our customers," said Xavier Rolet, CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group.
"We have resolved the real-time data dissemination issue and our UK cash equity markets have now resumed trading."
LSE claims to have identified the source of the problem and has taken steps to restore market connectivity. Trading resumed at 12.15pm today.
