Ryanair to sell targeted ads on boarding passes

Low-cost airline Ryanair will sell targeted advertising aimed at passengers in a bid to increase its revenue.

The airline is working with London-based in-flight magazine producer Ink to offer ads that can be customised according to a traveller's route and demographic data.

The ads will be displayed online and on home-printed boarding passes.

Ryanair said in a statement: "Passengers are required to reference their boarding cards on a number of occasions during a trip, providing repeat exposure for advertisers."
