TalkTalk has revealed that CIO David Cooper will be leaving the group.
He will take over the role of CIO at British Gas, starting in April.
TalkTalk recently announced that it will be slashing 580 jobs as part of its efforts to restructure the organisation, and implement changes to the way IT is delivered across the firm.
While the majority of jobs expected to be hit are in operations, some IT roles are also expected to be cut.
Cooper joins British Gas at a busy time for the company. British Gas is currently filing a £182m lawsuit against Accenture over an SAP-based Jupiter System.
Cooper will likely report to David Bickerton, who was formerly CIO at British Gas and is now the parent company's global CIO.
Given my experiences of TalkTalk's billing system issuing 23 incorrect bills over 2 years, AND, a similar issue with British Gas' 17 wrong bills from its billing system, this appointment leaves me utterly bemused! Energywatch are going to be busier than ever!
