Marks & Spencer has poached Tesco.com's CEO Laura Wade-Gery.
She will join M&S this summer as executive director of multichannel and e-commerce.
Wade-Gery will assume a newly created main board position and will lead the firm's e-commerce strategy.
Nick Lansley, head of R&D at Tesco.com, said: "I'm just a bit stunned this morning. No, I'm a lot stunned," on his Tech for Tesco blog today.
"It seems to be true – I tried to email her this morning and her Tesco Exchange email account appears to have been deleted.
"Wow. Well done M&S. She'll do you well," he added.
The move follows M&S chief executive Marc Bolland saying he wanted to double web sales by £400m to £800m-£1bn by 2014.
According to the Financial Times, Tesco's saw a 16 per cent increase in web sales to £1.2bn during Wade-Gery's time as CEO of Tesco.com.
