Belfast Health & Social Care Trust has completed the roll out of a £1.4m wireless network.
The system is used to share hi-res medical imaging, improve the efficiency of prescription management, and provide VoIP phone services. It also provides location tracking for equipment and vulnerable patients.
"Our implementation of a system this large is testimony to the service it delivers to our patients whilst reducing the support overhead," said Paul Duffy, co-director of IT at the Trust.
The network – from vendor Trapeze – now has 2,000 mobility points and supports 22,000 staff across the site, making it the largest active installation of Campus WiFi in the UK.
