Data planning and productivity suite helps datacentre administration

Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) specialist Emerson Network Power is buying data centre management firm Aperture for an undisclosed sum.

Aperture’s Vista data planning and productivity software suite will be integrated to Emerson’s Liebert AC power, precision cooling and monitoring products to create a more rounded package of data centre infrastructure equipment, says the company.

Emerson hopes the purchase, which will be finalised once all Aperture shareholders have formally agreed to its terms, will help it target emerging demand for data centre management tools from smaller and mid-sized facilities.
