O2 has launched a new managed service for enterprise mobile email customers.

The firm said today that its O2 Managed Services for Email would take away much of the 'pain' of managing mobile email, and would suit businesses with 100 plus users, using either BlackBerry, or Motorola's Good Mobile email services.

The service is priced on a per unit, per month basis, and includes managed services, and provisioning – O2 will configure the devices on an enterprise server, and administration tools such as password and license management. O2 said that it could also help businesses maximise the use of devices, by monitoring usage, producing reports and recommending changes.

Ben Dowd, Business Sales Director, at O2 UK, said “Mobile email is no longer simply a tool for senior executives but is now ubiquitous at all levels of an organisation, placing huge pressures on IT departments. With our managed service, we can take this pain away, freeing up resources but also providing greater control over mobile email costs.”
