today launches a committee to track the progress of the National Programme.
Membership will include representatives of doctors and health sector suppliers, as well as IT security expertise, political input and senior private sector ebusiness managers.

The group will monitor the projects making up the National Programme identifying potential pitfalls and assessing lessons to be learned.
The emphasis will be on providing a constructive contribution, rather than waiting for disasters and then carping from the sidelines.
The group will feed back to the House of Commons health select committee.
'I welcome the undertaking. The fact that it is broad-based is commendable and it will be very useful for the health committee,' said health committee chairman David Hinchliffe.
