Managed security services specialist Vistorm has launched a new Executive Dashboard software suite designed to give executives an overview of their firm's information security risk profile.
The company said the dashboard provides visual status reports on the risk of business interruption, unsound transactions, compliance breaches, unreliable data and unwanted disclosure. Using the dashboard, executives can also identify the steps that need to be taken to mitigate unacceptable risks, the company said.
Dan Turner, general manager of Vistorm, said the new dashboard would report risk data gathered through Vistorm's security audits and also integrate with other security management systems, such as email monitoring suites, which would allow the dashboard to be automatically updated. "Executives can quickly see where risks lie, how severe they are, and what their priorities should be," he said.
Bob Tarzey of analysts Quocirca welcomed the move, claiming that many firms still lacked visibility over their security risks. "The sad truth is that too many companies don’t assess the overall risks to their assets and face greater business continuity risks than necessary," he added.
