Americana International has replaced its previous paper-based product picking method with the belt-mounted voice computers and the new system, which connect to the firm’s warehouse management platform.

Under the new technology, staff can identify products to be selected and are also informed of the quantity to be picked.

The new set-up is claimed to have enabled additional functionality, without the expense or disruption of changing its warehouse management module.

“This meant we increased our productivity and accuracy quickly and cost effectively," said Damion Laycock, Americana's logistics director.

The package was provided by VoiteQ.
