DIY company Wickes has completed a successful overhaul of its IT systems.
The project included the migration of systems to a new data centre, as well as an upgrade of core IT systems such as point-of-sale, stock control, daily store polling, finance, HR and payroll.
The key to success was a well-run outsourcing contract with consultant Capgemini, according to Graham Malpas, service delivery manager of Wickes' parent company Travis Perkins.
"Capgemini was a major factor in helping us keep services at peak levels, eliminate risks and help us ensure a smooth data centre migration from London to Northampton," he said.
The contract involved the transfer of ten IT staff from Wickes to Capgemini under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE).
In a formal review of contract performance, Travis Perkins awarded Capgemini 100 per cent for all key success criteria.
