NetSuite has added new human resources functionality to its suite of on-demand applications.

The Employee Resource Management (ERM) capability is intended to automate common employee tasks such as submitting expense reports and requesting purchases. Managers can approve requests through a customisable workflow process.

NetSuite cited a recent Forrester Research report that suggested that HR has the highest rate of adoption of any application at companies piloting on-demand software.

The new year should be a busy one for NetSuite because the company, owned by Oracle chief executive Larry Ellison, plans to float in the first half of 2007.
