Computacenter, UK's biggest privately owned IT company, is being forced to increase salaries by up to 20% to prevent top staff being poached. The company is also planning to create 400 jobs this year to cope with growth. It is also Chief executive Mike Norris said revenues for first quarter 1997 were up 41% on last year and on target to hit #1bn for the year. Full year pre-tax profits last year grew 170% to #40m on turnover up 60% to just over #800m.
