BMW has outsourced its application management to consultancy Accenture, under a five-year contract.
Accenture will aid BMW in consolidating its application operations in areas such as finance, human resources, logistics, production and sales.
The new agreement extends an existing collaboration between Accenture and BMW and covers more than 500 applications, which BMW uses globally in its automotive and component manufacturing plants.
"BMW’s application management strategy will enable the company to take advantage of significantly improved services and processes, all from a single provider,” said Richard Spitzer, Accenture's automotive practice managing director.
