Aiming to enter the enterprise storage market, Overland Data has introduced EnterpriseXpress. This product line combines several technologies in an attempt to deliver library scalability and data availability for enterprise storage applications.
It is based on the SmartScale Storage architecture and can also be configured as San-ready. It is available in two models: the base configuration provides two DLT tape drives and 26 cartridge slots to support installations with 150-300GB of disk capacity, and a back-up rate of 36GB per hour.
Overland has also launched its TLC (Total Library Control) technology.
This allows the remote operation and management of its automated tape library from anywhere, via a standard web browser. It supports real-time alerts with TapeAlert-compatible back-up software and SNMP-compliant network management consoles.
Both products will be out in June with prices for EnterpriseXpress starting from $38,290 (£23,930) and TLC priced at $1,995.
