HP user group pulls the plug

Interex had over 100,000 members and was noted for its close collaboration with the vendor. But relations were strained by HP’s 2002 decision to phase out its e3000 series servers.

“It is with great sadness, that after 31 years, we have found it financially necessary to close the doors at Interex,” the group said. US users are now being directed to HP’s Technology Forum conference, an event many watchers said would kill off Interex.

But Interex EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) remains. “We continue the way we were,” said a spokes- woman. Encompass, the former Decus Digital user group, also continues.
