The Department of Health (DoH) has set up a Care Record Development Board (CRDB) to provide clinical and patient input to the £2.3bn National Programme for NHS IT.
The group replaces the Patient Advisory Board and the Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) set up last October but abandoned earlier this year.

All the CRDB's work will be made publicly available and a stakeholder conference is planned for November, says the DoH.
British Medical Association IT committee chairman John Powell says the new group is welcome, and fills the vacuum left by the collapse of the CAB.
'One of the issues with the CAB was the people on it were being asked to sign off significant project without, they felt, being sufficiently accountable,' he said.
'The new group will hopefully be more open, will publish its minutes and seems to have been set up with a view to its accountability.'
The CRDB will be chaired by DoH director for patients and the public Harry Cayton.
