Microsoft faces a $5bn class action lawsuit from seven current and former employees for alleged racial discrimination.

The suit, filed in the US District Court in Washington, claims that Microsoft discriminated against black employees.

According to a US law firm, the suit will allege that Microsoft violated civil rights and discriminated against black employees in evaluations, compensation, promotions, wrongful termination and retaliation.

It will build on an existing complaint filed last year by Rahn Jackson, a former Microsoft employee, who claimed racial bias.

Microsoft has not commented on the lawsuit but said it does not tolerate discrimination in its employment practices.
