Intel executives singled out Dixons' high prices as the reason for the fall in PC sales. Craig Barrett, Intel's CEO, said: "Dixons charges ridiculous margins." Another Intel executive said that Dixons' channel presence is so strong that it "determines what gets sold and at what price". Dixons retorted that Intel is interpreting its loss of market share as a whole market problem. It insisted: "The UK PC market has really taken off."
